44 Devon Road is a substantial Victorian villa at the lower end of Devon Road within a very short walk of the town centre. Built at the turn of the last century for ship's captains when Salcombe was a thriving port, this much loved family holiday home has been in the same ownership since the early 1960's. In 2007, the award-winning architect Stan Bolt was commissioned to remodel and extend the house to meet the needs of Salcombe in the 21st century, including year round family holidays and remote working.
The spacious accommodation is arranged over three floors with the semi open plan living area on the ground floor. The modern kitchen extension with an abundance of natural light has plenty of space for a large dining table and full width sliding doors open to the outside entertaining terrace. The sitting room with some charming period features has an open fire and there is also a utility and shower room on this floor. There is a TV room on the lower ground floor as well as a shower room and two double bedrooms that open to an enclosed courtyard. The first floor has three bedrooms and a family bathroom.
At the front of the property a tarmaced driveway provides parking and access to a large garage which is rare to find in this part of the town.
This is an exciting opportunity to acquire a substantial period home in the centre of Salcombe with an established and successful holiday letting history.
